Dan Hanosh’s The Moon Also Rises
dreams to come and thoughts of tomorrow

The Parkway

In a small town somewhere a bench
sits beneath a street lamp
waiting to light the way

it sits silently lying
among the trees as snowflakes
land upon its stringers

a chilling breeze embraces everything
blows the frosty whiteness
across the parkway

rolling white waves erase all traces
not a scuff marks a path not a living
thought has traveled across the icy froth

not a bird has rested upon
the snow covered bench nor has
a car passed in the street.
