Dan Hanosh’s The Moon Also Rises
dreams to come and thoughts of tomorrow

The Cold Has Come Again

Gazing out,
through my window,
barren gray trees
stand, tall against
the deep blue, of a
cold winter’s sky,

brown leaves, lay
asleep, on the forest floor,
a lonely pine, shows it’s
green branches, vividly,
against the dismal
grays and browns,

the green grass,
now brown, squirrel nests, no
longer hidden in the trees,
nothing moving, the geese have
gone, gone till spring, for
the cold has come again.
